The Escaper List is a list of some 4,400 men who escaped or evaded from enemy territory and got back, generally to the UK. The names are shown in alphabetical order of surnames for ease of searching. |
The MI9 Report Numbers are for UK and Commonwealth service personnel who returned from enemy or neutral territory to the UK and filed reports with MI9 - they did not necessarily escape or evade. |
The IS9 Report Numbers are for UK and Commonwealth service personnel who returned from enemy or neutral territory and filed reports with IS9 and/or MI9 - they did not necessarily escape or evade. |
The MIS-X Report Numbers are for American service personnel who returned from enemy territory to the UK and filed reports with MIS-X - they did not necessarily escape or evade. |
The LIB Report Numbers are for UK and Commonwealth service personnel who (with a couple of exceptions) were liberated from enemy captivity and filed reports with IS9 - they did not necessarily evade before capture. |
